This March's Issue of Vogue Paris showed a model in various updated versions of corn-rows. But 31 years ago, there was Bo Derek who in the film "10" in 1979 made corn-rows popular with all ethnicities now.
Also, that same year, there was a girl who decided to enlist her mother and two neighborhood friends to do her hair in cornrows and wear it that way for two weeks. School, church, everywhere. Then the following week she thought it would look so cool if she wore her hair big, frizzy and crimped from taking out the braids. That brave & wacky girl below, was me.
