I came across this photograph awhile back of Jackie O taken by the famous American photographer Mark Shaw. It really, more than most photographs, portrayed to me what would be the idea of a glamorous European holiday. Of course, it's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the photograph....how is that not American glamour in of itself.....But, a yacht... in Portofino...it is all I could ever imagine restrained elegance to be. It's like the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels...but without two hilarious comedians, and without all the con-people "conning" each other...and in Italy instead of France. Ha.
So maybe someday, I'll visit Portofino and I hope it to be just like I picture it, and just like this picture.

Portofino (meaning beautiful port in Italian) is a small fishing village on the Italian Riviera. It is a town surrounding a small harbor and is considered to be the most beautiful of all Mediterranean ports.
