She Delivers the News, AND a Healthy Dose of Colour!

Every night, the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex tunes into our local NBC station for the nightly news, and we are greeted by the ever-so-elegant Jane McGarry. It's funny, you know we watch someone on the television every night for years, and we think we know them, but we don't know them at all.
Luckily for us, D Home Magazine showed us a hint of her colorful personality, in the Ft. Worth home she shares with her husband Kevin. In the dining room, featured above, the 17th-century Spanish mirror reflects a chandelier from one of my favourite local Antique stores, Pittet & Co.

Above, in the family's great room, their coffee table is actually an old Indian daybed. Below in the living room, the coffee table is an 18th-century carved processional table.

In the middle photo above, McGarry stands in her kitchen, in front of an old Mexican cigar cabinet that now houses her collection of early 20th-century Italian and Mexican ceramics. Don't you just love this bright turquoise Ann Sacks tile? The carved wood deer head hails from India.

Above, in the living room,  Moroccan pillows and a Chinese porcelain lamp all get along in one space superbly. Below, although the bedroom is more subdue in colour, McGarry had to have a little punch, so she added a chair upholstered in a bright blue leather. Love it.

This is the prettiest outdoor table setting I've seen in a long time. The table cloth is actually an old Uzbekistan dowry cloth. I want to stay and eat here! I feel like I took an exotic trip around the world in this house. (all photographs by: Aimee Herring for DHome)
