I love the juxtaposition of modern sculpture within traditional settings, and that sentiment also extends to exteriors. These proper buildings provide the perfect backdrop for this incredible layered wooden sculpture. It almost looks like a piece of naturally formed driftwood that fell from the sky, right into the middle of the city. It is in fact a driftwood pavilion created by AA Unit 2 in London's Bedford Square.
The next images are of the Burnham Pavilion in Millennium Park, Chicago. This looks like something straight out of Mork & Mindy! Remember Mork from Ork's egg pod? This is so futuristic and sleek on it's own, but the night-time brings an unexpected treat. Look at how the lighting turns this pavilion into a visual stunner. I want to go here and step inside. It looks like there are exterior lights that are set up around it that change colors, and that is reflected on the outside of the pod. Brilliant.
I wonder if there is music inside. I imagine the soundtrack from Blade Runner playing. That would be only too cool.
