I thought I'd share with you each month a part of a series of drawings that I purchased from a gallery in Austria, for a local client. They are a set of unbelievably detailed drawings, graphite on paper, of each season. The illustrations were all signed "H.V", most likely a german artist, in 1897. True to that era, there are some dark aspects to each one like hidden goblins, grim faces, ...but what I like about them is that one can spend 5 minutes staring hard at each picture and still be fascinated--each time. Ultimately I had them framed and they now hang in 2 groups along a staircase in the client's home. Personally, I think they are phenomenal. Spectacular!
