Lindsay Lohan pleads not guilty to theft of necklace

Actress Lindsay Lohan pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a felony for allegedly stealing a necklace from a jewelry store in Venice (California), valued at $ 2,500.

Lohan was released on $ 20,000 bond and due back in court the next day 23.

She went to the state court in Los Angeles (California) to the massive presence of photographers and the media and testified before Judge Keith Schwartz.

"You're in a different situation now that you have been charged with a felony," said Schwartz. "If you violate the law, I'll send you availability custody without bail and your lawyer will not be as lucky this time. You need to follow the laws like everyone else. There are different to anyone, so do not tempt fate", he added .

Shawn Chapman, a lawyer for the actress, Lohan said he has complied with the terms of his probation and that his behavior is being flawless.

"If so would not be here with a new case," the indictment said.

Chapman issued a statement Tuesday denying "vehemently" allegations.

The store owner reported the theft to the police department of Los Angeles, whose research found evidence linking Lohan in the case.

The girl, who says he lent the necklace and that her stylist forgot to return, spend three years in state prison if convicted.
