WHAT TO COLLECT?

JUST A FEW SUGGESTIONS....

Of things I've found Out-and-About...

& thought were beautiful ...

ANTIQUE MEDICINAL BOTTLES IN PURPLE GLASS:
I saw this layout of purple glass bottles while on a trip to Marburger / Round Top a few years ago, and it was such a bright spot in a rainy day forecast.

I snapped this photo while shopping again at The Western Hardware Co. in Leadville, Co. The sunlight that filters through the foggy, old glass is beautiful.

Or just cool...

NATIVE AMERICAN / SOUTHWESTERN POTTERY

I took these photos of my mom's collection of mini-Native American pottery pieces. She took a basket, filled them with (dried) beans and then piled the pieces on each other. I showed her that some of them were broken, and she told me that was from my youngest son (huh-hmmm) .... We both thought that the broken pieces actually add interest to the vignette... Less perfect is usually more interesting than perfection!

To things that I collect myself....

and Things I want to Collect in the Future....

ANTIQUE TRADE CARD BOOK MARKS

ANTIQUE BLOTTERS
Both the Trade Cards & Blotters are from Princeton's Graphic Arts Library. I LOVE their blog. If you are also a fan of Ephemera and Graphic Arts or History, check it out!

To objects that are historically interesting ...

ANTIQUE PERUVIAN BURIAL DOLLS, c. 500 A.D.
Antique Peruvian Burial Dolls from Colorado Collectables, via Western Hardware Co. These dolls are approximately 1,200 - 2,000 years old. Because some of these regions hardly see rain, the textiles of the dolls remain in mint condition. I like the way these are framed and displayed.

And objects that may not have monetary significance .... But mean a lot to you...
