Mariah Carey has announced she is pregnant with her first child. The Grammy winner and her husband, the host of "America's Got Talent" and rapper Nick Cannon, made the announcement in an interview broadcast on the Today Show on NBC.
"Yes, we are expecting a child, it is true. It is still early, we're waiting for spring (northern hemisphere), " Carey said confirming rumors that had circulated for several months.
"It's been a long journey, but it was hard because I've been trying to maintain some privacy and that is not easy, " said Carey, who also revealed she lost a baby shortly after her marriage to Cannon in 2008.
Carey will release his thirteenth album, "Merry Christmas II You, " next week. During his 20 year career, the singer has sold over 200 million albums, singles, and videos, and has had 18 songs in the top U.S..
