Handmade in Johannesburg, South Africa, these pebbles are each made from felted merino wool. I think they would be great for pin-cushions! Besides being one-of-a-kind, they are also made by women through a job creation program in South Africa that promotes the empowerment of women and women's rights.

Maluku Collection: Pebble Inlaid Furniture by Carlo |
These bamboo pebbles are handmade by a company named
Bambu in China.
Bambu is a fiar trade company who practices fair labor, in a environment and safety friendly manufacturing facility. They use only 100% organically-grown bamboo --from leftover cutting boards-- and non-toxic adhesive. A responsible company in China producing a stylish and ethically made product. AWESOME!
I love Andy Goldsworthy, and I have ever since I ran across a book of his in the bookstore around 20 years ago. He creates the most amazing sculptures in nature, and the photographs are amazing. But I do like how Real Simple Magazine shows us that we can it on a smaller scale ourselves, at home. Something about seeing a few collected rocks laying in a line by a window just seems poignant.

As much as I like this necklace above, give me the words "i love you" with diamonds over jewellery any day...

And of course, who doesn't love pebbles when arranged artistically in landscapes. I think the garden above and the ones below, all from
Eco Outdoor in Australia, are gorgeous examples of how to create works of beauty with simple pebbles.
